Hey there, our vactaion time is in.  My husband and I are planning a trip up route 66 out here  near hwy 102.  in the Newalla, little Axe area. we are riding our hondas ,saddle bags loaded for keystone lake. we are in no big hurry. we will probably stay in the cabins that they have there. its off season so you can usually get a great deal, they have  a hot tub( great after a day on dirt!), showers, stove, oven, cook out area, tv ac/heat and a queen  bed. its pretty sweet. and they have 4-5 in an area. Riding is free there at the lake so thats a plus.  we will probably leave monday the 18th of october. stay ride 3-4 days and head home. with time to spare before the next work week. anyone is welcome along. they do have regular camping if your hardcore but the bed is nice i must say. esp. after riding there.  the riding is for any thing that can fit threw the gates, there is alot of sand, rock beds, moutain terian, there are two areas for dirt riders to play. like i said anyone welcome. drop us a message.

everyone falls its up to me to get back up.

I can't seem to be able to find much info on this area. Can your provide any photos? How wide is the gate? I might bring my quad too...thinking about coming.

You are looking for the Appalachia Bay area. I believe it is a Corps of Engineers park, not a state. They have a nice size ORV area. The gate at the orv area is designed for atv's & utv'v to get thru....they do not want jeeps & other 4x4's in the riding area as it is for bikes, atv's, etc.

there is also a riding area immediately south of the dam on the east side of the road called "White Water Park" its good on a quad. Lots of sand. Not much fun on a bike. I don't like going there as it is a bit of a free for all.

Hope that helps

Don't tell mom I ride a motorcycle on the weekend. She thinks I play piano in a whorehouse.

We had a great time the weather was nice, it rained once for the morning hours, and that  helped pack the sand down. ready for another trip
